If you’d like your gifts to arrive at one address on one date, simply add them to the shopping crate and checkout in one transaction. You’ll only pay one delivery charge for up to 6 crates. If you’re shopping for multiple occasions or different delivery addresses, you’ll have to place separate orders, though if you login to your account you can save your details and checkout more simply and swiftly.

Our website is open for orders 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we’re here to take your call from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. If you’d prefer to place your order over the phone, please have the billing details, full delivery address and your desired gift message to hand. Our number is 020 7627 0800. Please note you will not receive an order confirmation with phone orders.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit or debit cards. You can also pay using Paypal.

We use payment providers Secure Trading and Paypal to guarantee that your information is kept safe whether you’re placing your order on our website, mobile site, or over the phone. All credit and debit card information is held securely by Secure Trading and Paypal and is not accessible by us.

The majority of our crates are sent as gifts which are delivered directly to the recipient. Because of this we will never include invoices or prices with our crates.

We can change the details of your order before it leaves us. Contact us before 10am on the day before delivery is due and we will do our best to make the changes. Please email [email protected] with your order number and the changes you’d like made. After this time the parcel will be with our courier and amendments may not be possible or may incur a charge.

Please email us your order number and we will send your VAT receipt or invoice. Be aware that some of our products are VAT exempt.

If you place your order online you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please check the details carefully because orders can only be amended before courier collection. Sometimes auto-fill can cause problems with addresses, so please always check your confirmation. If you haven’t received your confirmation email please check your junk folder, particularly if you are using a Hotmail or Gmail account. If you need a copy, please email [email protected]. If you’ve provided a mobile phone number and/or email address, on the day of delivery you will receive a text message and/or email to let you know that the parcel is on its way and provide a 1-hour delivery window. Again, please check that the delivery information is correct.

If you need to cancel an order please let us know as soon as possible.Once we have made a personalised slate or plaque we are unable to refund this cost. If the order has already been handed to our courier it may not be possible to cancel or may incur a fee. Any refunds will be processed by us within 24 hours of agreement, though the speed of banking providers to process refunds can vary.

Once you’ve chosen your gift, you can choose to add additional treats for the lucky recipient. Our delightful range of extra treats, including the finest Belgian chocolates, red and white wine, champagne or secateurs are guaranteed to make your gift even more special.

When you place your order you’ll be given the opportunity to personalise it. Options for personalisation include a slate stake, hanging slate, wooden plaque and wooden spoons. All our engravings are made by us in-house so this won’t delay the arrival of your order. Some gifts come with personalisation as standard, please see product pages for details.

If you’ve provided an email address or mobile phone number you will receive an email or text message when your order is dispatched. This message will give you your tracking number and a 1-hour delivery window. If you’ve not received tracking information from the courier on the day your delivery is due to arrive, you can contact us with the delivery postcode and we can provide your tracking number and update you on the progress of your order. Our award-winning customer service team carefully observe the progress of your parcel to ensure that it arrives as swiftly as possible. Deliveries will arrive between 8:30am-8pm.

We have chosen DPD as our courier to deliver our crates. Once your order is dispatched you will receive an email or text message with the tracking number and a 1-hour delivery window on the morning of delivery, if you have provided an email address and/or mobile phone number. Please note, DPD sometimes deliver early on Mondays and Bank Holidays. Deliveries will arrive between 8:30 am-8 pm. Please note DPD only alert us to issues, not if delivery has been attempted. Free standard delivery for our seed boxes and Growbars are made by Royal Mail on a 2nd class service. Although the majority will arrive within 2-3 working days, this is not a guaranteed service. Delivery can take up to 15 working days and therefore we cannot class it as lost until this time frame has passed. If you require a guaranteed service within UK mainland, please upgrade your order during checkout.

When you place your order please let us know if there’s a secure place or trusted neighbour where the parcel may be left. Please bear in mind it is not always possible to leave an attempted delivery card, and leaving a parcel safe is at the driver’s discretion. If receiving a delivery at home is difficult we can deliver to places of work and wedding or party venues, which may be more convenient. Please provide us with an email address or mobile phone number so the courier can send the tracking number which you can use to check the progress of your parcel. We always advise to re-enter any delivery instructions. DPD can sometimes deliver early, for Monday deliveries and bank holidays. This is out of our control.

UK mainland weekday delivery £8, UK mainland Saturday delivery, £12 UK mainland by 12 pm £12, Scottish Highlands and Islands £12, Isle of Man and Channel Islands £16, UK standard delivery is free for seed kits and on orders over £100. An £8 discount will apply to orders over £100 that are to be delivered within UK mainland or on delivery upgrades. DPD can sometimes deliver early, for Monday deliveries and bank holidays. We take a break on bank holidays and couriers are usually unable to deliver on bank holidays. Occasionally DPD will deliver on bank holidays but this depends on individual depots and we are not able to confirm this. We also may not be able to deliver on Tuesdays which follow Bank Holiday Mondays. In addition, DPD can sometimes deliver early, for Monday deliveries and bank holidays. This is unfortunately out of our control. We recommend choosing to have your order delivered the Friday before the bank holiday. We give plants a good drink before they leave us and have designed our packaging to keep the plant happy for a few days. It’s essential that any unopened crate be kept in a cool, dark place – well away from direct sunlight or central heating. An unheated shed, cellar or garage is ideal. We’ve spent three decades developing the best way to send our unique gifts and have devised not only the best-looking and most original packaging but also the cleverest and most secure, ensuring that all our plants arrive in perfect condition. On the odd occasion there may be a problem/breakage but we are always here to help resolve any problems. Each and every one of our plants is hand packed to order by our talented team. Plants are carefully cocooned in wood wool within a sturdy wooden crate and sealed with wax paper. They are packed so that it shouldn’t matter which way the box is turned. The lid is secured and tied with large raffia bows, to which we attach a tag with your personal gift message. The crate is popped into a smart cardboard box for collection in the evening and is swiftly couriered overnight for delivery the very next day.

If there is a specific day on which you would like the gift to arrive, simply select the desired delivery date on the calendar during checkout. You can always select the day before to be safe.

Our standard cut-off time for next weekday delivery within UK mainland is 2pm. This may change during peak times. If you have just missed the cut-off, please call us on 020 7627 0800 as we may still be able to process it manually for you.

We’re super speedy! If you order by 2pm we can deliver to UK mainland addresses the very next day using DPD. Our cut off may vary during peak times. If there is a specific day you would like the gift to arrive, simply select the exact date on the calendar when you place your order.

We can offer a same day delivery service in London. Get in touch with the delivery postcode for a quote.

Incorrect delivery details slow deliveries down, so it’s important to get the address right before it leaves us. If you’re struggling to find an address or postcode please get in touch and we will try to help. If an incorrect address is provided there may be a charge for subsequent re-delivery or return to us. Always check your order confirmation, and if this has not been received ask for a copy to be emailed to you.

Whilst this is not an option when placing your order, you, or the recipient, may choose to redirect the parcel to a local shop to collect at your convenience once it has been dispatched. If this service is available in your region you will be offered this option by DPD when they send your tracking number via email or text, so make sure at least one of these are provided when placing your order. Please note that if you do choose this option you will not be able to select any further delivery changes. We recommend that the parcel is collected from the shop as soon as possible, to ensure that the plant remains healthy. The named recipient’s photo ID must be when collecting the parcel. Unfortunately we are unable to change the named recipient once a parcel has left us.

It may be possible for you to call in and pick up your order from us at our depot in Battersea, London. Give us a call to place your order and allow us at least one hour to package the crate before you arrive to collect it.

We’ve carefully chosen our collection of plants to thrive in the fickle British climate and have a range to suit all locations and conditions. We provide full care instructions with each order and are always available to answer any questions.

We have carefully curated our collection of gifts to ensure that there is a plant suitable for all recipients. Many of our plants can be grown in pots and some may be grown indoors. The individual page for each product outlines the conditions that each plant prefers. If you’re still undecided, please get in touch and we’ll be able to help you choose a gift to delight even the trickiest of customers! We can also let you know which of our plants are looking at their very best in each season.

We give plants a good drink before they leave us and have designed our packaging to keep the plant happy for a few days. It’s essential that any unopened crate be kept in a cool, dark place well away from direct sunlight or central heating. An unheated shed, cellar or garage is ideal. During the summer our plants are in full growth and should not be kept in the crates for any longer than 1-2 days. We recommend choosing a delivery date as close as possible to the day it will be opened by the recipient. In winter many of our plants are dormant and may stay in their crates for up to three weeks, if kept in a cool location, away from central heating. The following plants are not fully dormant at this time of year and should be delivered in the final week before Christmas: pineapple, banana, passion flower, chilli, orange, lemon, lavender, coffee, strawberry, mint, lemon verbena.

Open the box and wriggle your plant free from the wood wool. It will appreciate some sunlight and a good drink after its journey. Follow the care instructions we provide to get started with planting and growing and help your plant to flourish. If you have any further questions please get in touch. Most of our plants are now sent out with coir mat instead of green moss. It basically does the same thing but more efficiently. We always deliver a healthy specimen which will grow vigorously. Each plant will vary in size and shape depending on the time of year and availability. Deciduous plants vary in appearance depending on the time of year, and will be dormant and leafless through late autumn to spring. Individual product pages will show which plants are evergreen. Contact us directly for more information about how plants appear at present. The ultimate size of each plant depends on location and conditions, and many may be pruned to size. See individual product description pages for the ultimate height of each plant.

Unfortunately this is not guaranteed. All products will vary in size and shape as they are natural living plants and are affected by seasonal variations.

We do our best to make all of our crates available year round but nature is a fickle mistress and some plants are simply not available all year. Throughout winter many plants will arrive in their dormant and leafless state, but will burst into life as soon as spring arrives. If you would like to check which plants are looking their best do get in touch and we will let you know.

During winter some of our dormant plants will be delivered root wrapped. We carefully roll the root ball in damp moss, wrap it in plastic to retain the moisture and place them into an attractive hessian bag. A root wrapped plant should be kept outside or in a cool, sheltered place such as a shed. Kept indoors they will become confused and begin to bud early, which will damage the young plant. When the final frosts have passed, the moss and plastic wrapping may then be removed before planting.

Each plant arrives with full care instructions which explain the planting and care process. Following the simple instructions will ensure that the plant will thrive, and our team are always happy to answer any specific horticultural questions.

If there are any problems with the gift when it arrives, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. On the rare occasion that a gift needs to be returned we will offer a refund to the buyer as soon as the crate and its contents are returned to us in saleable condition. Any refunds will be processed by us within 24 hours of agreement, though the speed of banking providers to process refunds can vary. We are unable to offer a refund on personalised slates or crates.
